ICE 2016 will take place in Orlando, Florida–a fun, easily-accessible, and affordable city in the southeastern United States.
One of Orlando’s biggest draws is the year-round sunny, mild weather. In keeping with its nickname the “Sunshine State”, Central Florida maintains a comfortable average daytime high temperature of 88° F (31.1° C) and evening low temperate of 72° F (22.2° C) in September.
ICE 2016 scientific meetings will be held at the award-winning Orange County Convention Center, in the heart of Downtown Orlando and only 15 minutes from the Orlando International Airport. ESA has negotiated discounted hotel room rates with several hotels attached to the Convention Center and within easy walking distance of each other. This close proximity of hotel rooms and meeting locations maximizes the ability of attendees to network and attend sessions regardless of which hotel they select. These hotel meeting facilities are also ideal for co-located meetings and functions for societies and other organizations that wish to hold events around the Congress.
The Convention Center area is the center of the entertainment, dining, and shopping district on International Drive (also known as “I-Drive”) and is located in the center of all the area attractions. This area features cuisine from around the world, accommodating all tastes for meals, and with meal prices to fit every budget.
The Orange County and Central Florida areas are home to many of the world’s top amusement/theme parks and attractions including:
- Indy Racing Experience & Richard Petty Driving Experience
- LEGOLAND Florida
- Orlando Science Center
- Universal Orlando including Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, and City Walk
- Wet ‘n Wild Orlando
- Central Florida Zoo, Botanical Gardens and Massey Services Insect Zoo
